News (Apr 28th, 2020, updated May 10th, 2020):

Dear colleagues,

based on the information of rectorate of Charles University dated April 24th, 2020 and in consent with the decision of the government of the Czech Republic, students will be allowed to take part individually in activities in groups of a maximum of five people such as personal consultations, exams, final state examinations or state rigorosum examinations if requisite hygienic measures are observed.

First Faculty of Medicine decided to resume the tuition within the above-mentioned framework, to a certain extent, starting May 4th, 2020, depending on the possibilities of individual Institutes and the decision of the subject guarantors. At the same time, seminars and lectures with large numbers of students are still not recommended.

Therefore, I decided that the tuition of "Biology and Genetics" will continue in the distance (on-line) form, including the tests, until further notice.

Modification of the Examination Rules at Institute of Biology and Medical Genetics, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and General University Hospital; in the subject Biology and Genetics 2 (B80360, B83121) - academic year 2019/2020 was posted.

Requirements for obtaining credit (Biology and Genetics 1, GM):

  1. Successful completion (passing) of all three tests. The last test does not yet have a set term, but it will probably take place in the week from the 25th of May.
  2. Completion of protocols. There are 11 protocols to fill in and to upload for checking by the teacher. There are two possibilities where to upload the files: a) Google disk or another repository that is free of charge and does not need an extra registration by the teacher; b) Charles University provides OwnCloud solution with 100GB space and possibility of sharing, teachers and students can access it for free through eduID (CAS) system (therefore ISIC number and SIS password should work): https://www.cesnet.cz/services/owncloud/?lang=en
  3. Absence from practical training lessons during the period of standard presence classes now has the limit originally set for the whole semester, i.e. 2 absences with an appropriate documented reason + 1 absence without need to apologize (free).
